Websites such as Facebook or Twitter address the four types of privacy (physical, mental, decisional, informational) in their privacy policy using these methods:
- Users are able to make different aspects of their profile public or private. They themselves choose what to share or not.
- Users are allowed to report any malicious behavior towards themselves by reporting the offender’s profile.
- Users can block any accounts that they find are suspicious. These accounts will no longer have access to any information about the user.
- DMs (direct messages) are not monitored but are encrypted to ensure no middleman receives any information.
- Users may leave the platform at anytime by deleting their profile.
